Yokozuna Deliberation Council Practice To Be Opened To The Public

A joint practice attended by all the top ranked rikishi is held for The Yokozuna Deliberation Council, one of the Nihon Sumo Kyokai's two main advisory bodies, before the start of each Grand Sumo Tournament in Tokyo. Traditionally, these training sessions were closed to everyone but the council members, Kyokai officials, selected guests and the press but the Kyokai has decided to open up some of these practices on a regular basis to the general public.

practice: from approx. 7:30 - 11:00 AM
Those fans wishing to attend, please pay close attention to the following:

Please follow all directions given by venue attendants and security staff. Under certain circumstances, a security check of all hand luggage and or backpacks may be required. Your cooperation and understanding in this matter will be greatly appreciated. (All seating is on a first come, first served basis.) |
| 2. |
This is a practice session and as such, demands the utmost concentration on the part of all participating rikishi. Please watch practice quietly, refraining from making any unnecessary noise including both cheering and applause. (Please be sure to turn off all cellular phones before entering the arena.) |

No smoking is allowed in the venue. |
| 4. |
The consumption of alcoholic beverages during the practice session is prohibited. |
| 5. |
At the end of practice, please make sure you properly separate any trash you may have and place said trash in the appropriate receptacles located in the corridor circling the arena . |

Please note that the Kyokai is not responsible for any injury or loss of personal property that may occur in the venue. |
